Scholarships for University of Illinois at Chicago Students
For continuing UIC African American, Latino, or Native American undergrad and professional students. Must be enrolled full-time and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicant must also have junior or senior status in the fall after applying. Fifteen $2,000 scholarships will be awarded, Five $5,000 graduate fellowships, and Five $5,000 professional fellowships will be awarded annually.
Multiple scholarships for students in numerous majors, colleges, and academic programs are available year round.
This year the Scholarship Association for UIC will be providing seventeen (17) scholarships for currently enrolled UIC students ranging in value from $400 to $2,000. Awards are generally for students of any major and also include recognition for academic achievement, campus and community involvement and financial need. The students are urged to apply early in case they will be considered for an award that requires letters of recommendation! March 1st is the deadline.
This scholarship is for LAS student(s) with financial need who may otherwise be unable to attend UIC. Preference shall be given to underprivileged students, such as those whose primary residence during high school was public housing and/or temporary housing due to homelessness. The scholarship is open to all LAS undergraduate and graduate students with demonstrated significant financial need regardless of major, GPA or credit hours completed. Award amounts have yet to be determined, but the College hopes to award significant renewable funds to be used for direct educational costs incurred by the recipient, including tuition, fees, books, housing and meals. Each year the Hilda López-Arce Scholarship Selection Committee in conjunction with the Latina Network, Subcommittee of the Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Latinos award a $500 scholarship to a student who exhibits leadership qualities and who has made contributions to the Latino community. One student is selected each session regardless of their residency status. Deadline for the Spring session is the 1st of December prior.
